Everything SuperSet Studio does, and how to do it
Gather your favourite sounds from as many Korg sound sets as you like, into one performance list that loads straight onto your instrument — samples and all. Here is the whole workflow, and the complete manual behind it.

Windows may warn you the first time
On a new computer, your browser may call the download unusual, and Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" box when you run it. Nothing is wrong with the file. Windows trusts software it has seen many people install, and SuperSet Studio is new — so it has not met us yet. The warning fades as more people install it.
To continue. If the browser blocks the download, choose Keep. At the blue box, click "More info" and then "Run anyway". You should never have to do this for a program you did not deliberately download from us.
You do not have to take our word for it. Every release is signed, and Windows will tell you who signed it before you run anything: right-click the installer, choose Properties, and open the Digital Signatures tab. It must read:

If that name is missing or different, the file did not come from us — delete it and download again from htbeats.com. That check is worth more than any warning box: it is the same signature the app itself verifies before it installs its own updates.
Six steps, start to finish
You pick the sounds. SuperSet Studio gathers exactly the samples they need, prepares them for the keyboard you are building for, and hands you a ready-to-load package. You never touch a file format or a sample folder.
- 01 Import your sets Point SuperSet Studio at the sound sets already on your computer. Nothing is copied or moved — your sets are only ever read.
- 02 Browse what is in them Look inside any set before you commit to anything — every Program, every Combination, every Multisample. Empty slots are hidden so you only see real sounds.
- 03 Choose your keyboard Tell the app which instrument the set is destined for. That sets the memory limit you are working against, and prepares every sound to play correctly on that model.
- 04 Build your SuperSet Drag sounds from any set into the numbered slots of your own performance list, or add them straight from the Programs and Combinations pages — including sounds no Set List references. Name it, colour it, annotate it. Undo and redo the whole way.
- 05 Export your set One folder, containing your set and only the samples it actually needs — written wherever you choose. A progress window shows each stage; the summary tells you what was included.
- 06 Load it on the keyboard Copy the folder to a USB drive, load the samples and then the .PCG. Your performance list appears — Programs, Combinations and all their samples, exactly as you arranged them.
What you can do
The whole of it, in one list. Each of these is covered in detail in the manual — this is the map, not the territory.
- See Inside Every Library Programs, Combinations and Multisamples from every set you have imported, side by side, each with the sample memory it needs. Add sounds to your SuperSet straight from these lists — including the ones no Set List happens to reference. Pop any list into its own window and compare two libraries at once.
- See and Hear Every Sample Open the Sample Editor on any set you have imported: every sample with its waveform, where it starts, loops and ends, and a button to play it. Pick a Multisample and a full keyboard shows which sample each key plays — and every Program and Combination that uses it.
- Your Own Samples, from WAV Files Drop in WAV files and hear them as the instrument will play them. Set the start, end and loop, adjust gain and fades, and let the app find each file's original key and spread the files across the keyboard. One click makes the Multisample and a Program, ready to place in your SuperSet. Available for the Nautilus.
- Multi-Library SuperSets Pull the best sounds from several PCG libraries into one set. Bank collisions, renumbering and sample placement are handled for you — automatically.
- Automatic Dependency Resolution Every multisample and sample a sound needs is found and shipped with it. Nothing to hunt down by hand.
- Cross-Platform Projects Mix Kronos and Nautilus source libraries in one project. Kronos factory and expansion sounds carry over to Nautilus automatically; sounds built on user samples are detected and guided through the instrument’s own one-time conversion.
- Combination-Aware Export Combinations bring their timbre programs along and are re-linked to their new slots — every layer keeps playing the right sound.
- Set List Assembly Drag and drop, multi-select, copy, cut and paste. Duplicate a whole Set List to build a variant of a set that already works, or delete one you no longer want. Move a slot and the libraries and samples behind it follow on their own — and every change can be undone.
- Choose Where Every Sound Lands Decide which bank and which slot a Program or Combination takes on the instrument. Slots already in use show what is in them by name, and replacing one tells you exactly what would go. A sound can also live in a bank alone, without spending one of your 128 Set List slots.
- Colour, Name and Annotate Give each slot one of 16 colours and a comment of your own, exactly as they read on the instrument's own screen. Name the Set List itself and it arrives named.
- Memory, Per Set and Per Slot See whether the whole selection fits the instrument's sample memory before you export, what any single slot costs, and what every Program and Combination costs before you add it. Duplicate samples are counted, and shipped, only once.
- Projects You Save and Reopen Save your work and pick it up later, or reopen a set you have already exported and add more sounds to it. A SuperSet is a project you keep working on, not a one-shot export.
- Validation & Honest Warnings Missing or conflicting resources are flagged before export, and any sound affected by a known limitation is called out up front.
- Every Sound's Origin SuperSet Studio records which set each sound came from and where it sat in it. More info on any slot shows its source, its bank and slot, and everything it depends on.
What the badges mean
Every sound carries a small badge telling you how it behaves when you move it into your SuperSet. It is the single most useful thing to understand — it tells you at a glance whether a sound will travel intact.
Best case. The sound brings its own samples with it, so it plays correctly in your SuperSet on any keyboard.
The sound leans on samples that live inside the keyboard rather than travelling with it. It plays — but on a keyboard without those exact samples it may sound different.
A standard factory sound using the keyboard's own built-in sounds. It travels fine — every keyboard of the same family has these.
A Combination — several sounds layered or split. Whether its samples travel depends on the sounds inside it, and SuperSet Studio handles each part for you.
Rule of thumb. Sounds badged "carries" are the safest to move between different sound libraries. Sounds badged "built-in" still work — just know they lean on the keyboard's own samples.
You always know if it will fit
Every keyboard can hold only so many samples at once. Two bars in the Builder show where you stand — one for the set you are browsing, one for the set you are building — so you never carry a set to the instrument that is too big to load.

Choosing your keyboard sets the limit the bars measure against, and prepares your sounds to play correctly on that model. Always pick the instrument you will actually load the set onto.
The KRONOS family
Four generations carry the KRONOS name, and their memory figures are widely misquoted. These are Korg's own published specifications, collected in one place because the difference between them decides what a set can hold.

"Free" is not a limit on library size. It is the working PCM RAM left after the factory PRELOAD.KSC has loaded — nothing more. User Sample Banks stream most of their data from the SSD, so a library can occupy several gigabytes on disk while using far less PCM RAM. Read against the wrong number, a set that fits perfectly well looks impossible.
The current OS changes what you see. Korg's system version 3.2.3, released 22 July 2026 and available even for the original 2011 KRONOS, adds Tine EP content that costs roughly 21 MB of free PCM RAM coming from an earlier 3.2.x, or roughly 64 MB from 3.1.4 or older. A keyboard on the current OS will therefore show a little less than the published figure, and the real number also depends on which EXs libraries and User Sample Banks are switched on.
On the name. Korg's manuals call the current generation KRONOS3-61/73/88, while it is sold simply as KRONOS. Both names describe the same instrument.
SuperSet Studio works with Korg Nautilus and the Korg Kronos models. The table above is what each Kronos generation holds — pick yours from it, and tell the app which one you are building for.
One load, samples and sounds together
Copy the exported folder to a USB drive exactly as it is, then load it in a single operation: you choose the .PCG, and one tick-box brings its samples with it. Their names all start with the name you gave your set. Switch the instrument off and on first so it starts with a clean memory.

Why both settings matter. The tick-box is what brings the samples; the allocation is what loads them exactly as the set was saved, so every sound finds its own. It clears whatever is already in SAMPLING mode, so save your own sampling work first — installed libraries and sample banks are left alone. On a Kronos you press DISK and use the Disk-Load page; on a Nautilus you press MEDIA.
If a sound is silent. Load the set again exactly as above — a .PCG on its own cannot bring its samples with it. The exported folder also carries a README_LOAD_INSTRUCTIONS.txt written for your particular package, with the exact steps for it; where the two disagree, trust the README.
What this software can and cannot know
The mechanism that ties a Korg sound to the samples it needs is not documented anywhere. There is no published specification, no official tool, and no reference implementation to check an answer against. SuperSet Studio is the result of working it out.
As far as we know, no other application finds, extracts and packages Korg Kronos and Nautilus streaming samples together with the Programs that depend on them, automatically. We would genuinely be glad to be corrected on that.
It is best-effort software, and we would rather say so here than have you discover it. We have tested it extensively, against real sets and real instruments. But a mechanism this complex will have corner cases we have not seen — some of which may exist in exactly one person's library.
If you hit one, tell us
Send us the report log the app produces. We read every one, and we fix what we can in the next update — that is how the difficult cases have been found so far.
We never need your samples. Not once, not for any problem. The log on its own tells us what went wrong, and your sound library stays exactly where it is.

Good to know
The six questions people actually ask
A sound is silent on the keyboard.
Almost always the .PCG was loaded on its own, so its samples never came with it. Switch the keyboard off and on, then load the .PCG again with "Load ….KSC too" ticked and ".KSC Allocation" set to "Clear Sampling mode Data". The README_LOAD_INSTRUCTIONS.txt in your exported folder gives the exact steps for your package.
The keyboard says "Samples Not Loaded" but the sound plays fine.
Harmless — usually a muted layer inside a Combination. If it plays correctly, there is nothing to fix.
My SuperSet bar is red, or over the limit.
Remove some sample-heavy sounds, or switch "Building for" to a keyboard with more memory. The bar shows exactly how much you are over.
A sound is not in the list to pick from.
Empty "Init" slots are hidden by design. If a real sound is missing, check that the set imported fully under Source Libraries.
A built-in-based sound does not sound right.
Where you can, choose a version of that sound badged "carries", so it brings its own samples with it.
The app will not open sounds from a set I moved.
SuperSet Studio remembers where a set lives. If you moved or renamed the folder, remove it under Source Libraries and import it again from its new location.
The Korg vocabulary
These words appear on the instrument's own screen, so they are kept exactly as Korg prints them.
- Program
- A single sound — a piano, a string patch.
- Combination
- Several Programs layered or split across the keyboard as one playable sound.
- Set List
- An ordered list of sounds you switch between while playing.
- Multisample
- A set of recorded samples that make up an instrument sound.
- Source set
- A sound set you take sounds from.
- SuperSet
- The custom set you build from sounds across several sources.
- Sample RAM
- The keyboard's memory for holding samples — the limit the bars track.
- Carries / built-in
- Whether a sound brings its own samples, or leans on the keyboard's.
