Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains how HT-Beats ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the SuperSet Studio application, its online licensing service, and when you purchase a licence. It should be read together with the SuperSet Studio End User License Agreement (EULA).
We have built SuperSet Studio to be privacy-preserving by design: the sound libraries, sets, projects and files you create or import are processed only on your own computer and are NEVER sent to us.
1WHO WE ARE (DATA CONTROLLER)
HT-Beats is the controller of the personal data described in this Notice. Contact: Website: https://htbeats.com Email: support@htbeats.com For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at the address above.
2WHAT THIS NOTICE COVERS
This Notice covers:
- the SuperSet Studio desktop application and its licensing/activation service; and
- the purchase of a licence (checkout, licence delivery and support). It does not cover third-party websites or services that we link to, which have their own privacy policies (for example, our payment provider).
3WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do NOT collect, receive, upload or store:
- your sound libraries (PCG or other library files);
- your programs, combinations, Set Lists, multisamples or samples;
- your projects, exported packages, file names or imported folder contents. All of that stays on your computer. The Software only ever reads your source libraries locally and writes the output you export to a location you choose.
4WHAT WE COLLECT, WHY, AND OUR LEGAL BASIS
4.1Licensing and activation data. To activate and continuously validate your
licence, the Software sends us:
- your Licence Key (during activation);
- a public device identifier derived from your computer's security chip (TPM) – this identifies the licensed device but is not your private key, which never leaves your computer;
- a pseudonymous installation identifier;
- the application version; and
- minimal security telemetry (for example, activation and validation timestamps and outcome, and coarse error/diagnostic signals). Purpose: to activate and bind your licence to one device, keep it valid while you use the Software, prevent fraud and licence abuse, and enforce version requirements. Legal bases: performance of the contract (the EULA) with you; and our legitimate interests in preventing fraud and protecting our Software (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR, where applicable).
4.2Purchase data. When you buy a licence we (and our payment provider) process
your name, email address and order/transaction reference. Payment is handled by our third-party payment provider (for example, PayPal); we do NOT receive or store your full card or bank details. Purpose: to sell and deliver the licence, provide receipts and support, and meet tax/accounting obligations. Legal bases: performance of the contract; and compliance with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting) (Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).
4.3Support data. If you contact us, we process the information you provide (such
as your email, licence reference and the content of your message). Purpose: to respond to and manage your request. Legal bases: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in providing support.
4.4Website data. Our website uses only what is necessary to operate it and to
complete a purchase. We do not use non-essential tracking or advertising cookies. Any payment or checkout interaction is handled by our payment provider under its own privacy policy.
5WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH (PROCESSORS AND RECIPIENTS)
We share personal data only as needed to run the service, with providers acting on our behalf under appropriate data-processing terms:
- Cloud hosting/infrastructure provider that runs our licensing service (Amazon Web Services);
- Payment provider that processes your purchase (for example, PayPal);
- Email/communication providers used to deliver licence keys and support. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, and to a successor in the event of a business transfer.
6INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Our licensing service is hosted on cloud infrastructure that may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised by applicable law (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.
7HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA
We keep licensing and activation records for as long as your licence is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to support transfers, prevent fraud and resolve disputes. We keep purchase and tax records for the period required by law (typically several years). Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for our records. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8YOUR RIGHTS
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR for individuals in the EU/EEA and the UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive certain data in a portable format; and
- withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting prior processing. To exercise any right, contact us at support@htbeats.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We will respond to requests within the time required by law.
9SECURITY
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption of licensing traffic in transit, storing licence keys only as irreversible (peppered) lookup values rather than in plain text, and a device key that is generated and held in your computer's security hardware and never transmitted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to minimise what we collect.
10CHILDREN
SuperSet Studio is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may update this Notice from time to time. The current version is available at https://htbeats.com with its effective date. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to inform you.
